Fondation Beyeler
Two former art dealers named Hildy and Ernst Beyeler started collecting works of modern masters and this dates back to the 1950s. Their impressive collection was transferred to a foundation in 1982 and since a few years made available to the public in Basel at the Fondation Beyeler. It is composed of around 200 masterpieces from the 19th and 20th century of artists like Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Andy Warhol and Joan Miro to name a few. Every now and then they organise some special theme exhibitions.
